Born on in Quezon City, the Philippines, Theresa “Tetchie” Agbayani grew up in a household where music and performance were part of daily life. Her father, a civil engineer, and her mother, a schoolteacher, encouraged her love of the arts, and by the time she was a teenager she was already a regular at local talent shows, dance recitals, and school productions.
The issue sold in its first month—a record for any Filipino magazine at the time—and sparked a national conversation about sexuality, empowerment, and the evolving role of women in media.
These endeavors earned her multiple awards, including the for Cultural Contribution (2005) and the Asian Women’s Media Award for Leadership in Entertainment (2010).
