And what an outsider they are. This is where the game excels in environmental storytelling. When you walk through the Citadel or Omega with Tali, you see the galaxy through her eyes. She is marginalized, discriminated against, and viewed with suspicion by almost everyone. We love Mass Effect for the epic space opera, but we remember it for the real moments. The Pilgrimage Game is a mirror. It’s the anxiety of job hunting in a recession. It’s the pressure to prove your worth to a family that sacrificed everything for you.
