At first glance, Algodoo looks like a toy—a colorful, 2D playground for bouncing balls and crashing cars. But after spending a decade away from it and coming back as an adult, I’ve realized something surprising:

The story begins at Umeå University in Sweden, where computer science student Emil Ernerfeldt developed the original program, , in 2008. The name was a playful contraction of "Physics" and "Fun," which succinctly summarized the project's core philosophy.
