The steps are nearly identical for both Android and iPhone.

In the settings sidebar, look for the "Blocked people" section. (On some layouts, you may need to scroll down).

If you have an existing chat thread with the person you blocked, you can unblock them directly from the conversation window.

Tap on your Profile picture or initial in the top-right corner.

Hover over the person you want to unblock. Click the three vertical dots (menu) that appear.

They will now be able to message you, and you can message them.

If you are on the go, the Google Chat mobile app makes unblocking easy, though the option is slightly hidden inside the conversation.

You will see a list of everyone you have blocked. Find the person you want to unblock.
