Today’s note: Lately I catch myself performing my own life. Smiling when I should be quiet. Saying “I’m fine” when my chest feels tight. Excogi, for me, means stopping that performance mid-scene.

The Tosa Nikki (; "Tosa's Diary") is a classic work of Japanese literature, dating back to the Heian period (794-1185 CE). This poetic diary was written by Ki no Tsurayuki, a renowned Japanese poet and nobleman, around 935 CE.
