After installing all drivers:

Compatibility Mode: Right-click the installer, go to Properties > Compatibility, check "Run this program in compatibility mode for," and select an older version of Windows if the driver is legacy.

If you install a driver but the device still won't work, try uninstalling it first. In Device Manager, right-click the device and select . Check the box that says "Delete the driver software for this device" (if available), then restart the PC. Re-install the driver fresh.

If Windows Update fails to find a specific driver, Device Manager is the primary tool for manual intervention. This method is best for "Unknown Devices" or hardware marked with a yellow exclamation point. Press the Windows Key + R, type devmgmt.msc , and hit Enter. Locate the hardware category you wish to update.

Run as Administrator: Right-click the installer file and select "Run as administrator" to bypass permission blocks.

If an installer fails with "Unsupported OS," right-click the setup.exe → Properties → Compatibility tab → Run this program for Windows 7 (or Vista).

If you have already downloaded a driver file from a manufacturer, choose "Browse my computer for driver software" instead and point the installer to the folder containing the .inf file. Method 3: Downloading from Manufacturer Websites

Note: Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 in January 2020. If this machine connects to the internet, consider upgrading to Windows 10/11 or using it only on isolated networks.
