By mapping your most-used network folders, you can significantly streamline your workflow and keep your important data just a click away.

On the host computer, ensure the folder’s sharing properties allow "Read/Write" access for your specific user account.

In corporate and home networks, shared storage is essential for collaboration and centralized data access. Windows 11 provides built-in functionality to map a network drive—assigning a local drive letter (e.g., Z:) to a remote shared folder. This simplifies access for users and applications.

Go to Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Advanced sharing settings . Ensure Network discovery is turned On.

Check if you want the drive to stay connected every time you restart your computer.

Your PC must be on the same network as the host device.

If you prefer using the command line or need to map a drive quickly, you can use the net use command.

If the computer name isn't working, try using the host’s IP address (e.g., \\192.168.1.50\SharedFolder ).
