This is my personal favorite. Families gather to offer food and new robes to monks. But the real heart of the day is the giving of gifts to the elderly. Seeing grandchildren literally wash the feet of their grandparents as a sign of respect and ask for forgiveness is a powerful reminder of Cambodia’s deep-rooted family values.
