is notorious for its brutality. One bite, one scratch from a shambling corpse, and your survival run is effectively over. It’s a game about the inevitable end, but sometimes, you just want to let off steam, test game mechanics, or create the ultimate fortress without the constant fear of death.
Using Debug Mode or God Mode will prevent you from earning achievements on that save file. Furthermore, once you play with God Mode on, it is very difficult to go back to the tension of a standard survival run. The fear of death is what drives Project Zomboid; once you remove the consequences, the game can quickly lose its thrill.
