Kara Robinson was a high school student living in Stockton, California. On August 24, 1991, she was abducted while walking home from her summer job. Her kidnapping and subsequent murder were highly publicized due to the brutality of the crime and the fact that Davis was a convicted felon who had previously been arrested for burglary.
Davis, a 36-year-old convicted felon, kidnapped Kara and held her captive in a shed on his property. During her 10-day captivity, Kara was subjected to physical and emotional abuse, including being beaten, raped, and forced to endure psychological torture.
