This paper examines the operational model, legal challenges, and economic impact of two prominent piracy websites—Isaimini and Tamilrockers—which have systematically distributed copyrighted Tamil-language films. Using a qualitative case study approach, the paper analyzes how these platforms evade domain blocks, monetize through advertising, and exploit legal loopholes in international copyright enforcement. Findings indicate that while legal actions such as domain seizures and ISP blocking have reduced accessibility, mirror sites and VPN usage sustain their availability. The paper concludes with recommendations for legal reform, public awareness campaigns, and technological countermeasures tailored to regional entertainment industries.
