While rotation causes day and night, Earth’s (about 23.5 degrees) determines the length of those periods.

The sun isn't "setting" in the west; the Earth is merely spinning eastward, causing the sun to disappear from our view.

Day and night are not magic tricks performed by the heavens. They are the result of a planetary pirouette that has been happening for 4.5 billion years.

The Earth rotates on its axis, which is an imaginary line that runs through the North and South Poles. This rotation is what causes day and night. The Earth takes approximately 24 hours to complete one rotation on its axis, which is why we have a day. As the Earth rotates, different parts of the planet are exposed to or hidden from the Sun's light, resulting in the cycle of day and night.
