Dish soap is designed to break down grease molecules. When combined with hot water, it helps "slide" the clog through the trap. The Steps:

If you have PVC (plastic) pipes under your sink, be cautious. While most modern PVC can handle boiling water, extremely hot water can sometimes loosen joints or warp older piping. If you are worried, let the water cool for 2-3 minutes after boiling before pouring.

If nothing else works, the clog is likely lodged in the P-trap. While this requires a bit of manual labor, it is the most effective way to clear a stubborn blockage without a plunger. Place a bucket under the U-shaped pipe beneath your sink.

A makeshift snake can reach deeper into the "P-trap" (the U-shaped pipe) to pull the debris out. The Steps:

Straighten out a wire coat hanger, leaving a small hook at one end. Carefully feed the hook into the drain.

This is the classic, non-toxic way to melt through organic clogs like hair, soap scum, and food particles.
