Go to Settings > System > Recovery . Under Recovery options , click the Go back button.
The screen didn't load the desktop. Instead, text began to scroll down the screen, rapidly, as if the computer were vomiting its own internal monologue.

A black screen. Then, a single line of white text appeared.

Elias frowned. That wasn't the standard syntax. It usually said, "Restoring previous version of Windows." The omission of the subject made it feel ominous, like a sentence cut short. Instead, text began to scroll down the screen,
Elias sweated. He needed to force it. He needed to tell the computer to stop rolling back.
The computer rebooted. The familiar BIOS post screen flashed, followed by the Windows logo. But the spinning dots beneath the logo weren't moving in a circle. They were vibrating, twitching in place.
