Chessformer Level 21 Review
The goal of each level is to guide your king (or a designated piece) to capture a glowing star. Levels introduce new pieces gradually: pawns, knights, bishops, rooks, queens, and eventually multiple pieces interacting on the same board.
Move the Rook vertically up, utilizing the Bishop's top edge as a temporary shelf to break its standard movement limits. Step the Rook onto the higher left-hand platform. Step 5: The Final Capture
Learning from the first mistake, the player tries moving the king first. The king slides up one square until it hits a stone block. That’s fine. But now the rook’s previous path is blocked by the king itself. To free the rook, the king must move again—but every king move risks exposing it to the pawns. The player ends up in a stalemate: the rook can’t reach the star without the king moving, and the king can’t move without being captured. chessformer level 21
Slide the rook right from the bottom-left. It will travel across the entire bottom row, pushing a black pawn that was hiding at (4,7) all the way to (7,7). That pawn now sits exactly on the star’s square. This seems disastrous—but it’s intentional.
