Usually, this was the easy part. The digital breadcrumbs left by a popular reality fashion show were plentiful. Within seconds, she’d have a high-definition file, ready to transport her from her cramped studio apartment in Chicago to the glamorous, neon-lit runways of Los Angeles. She needed the escape. Her own fashion line was currently a pile of rejected sketches and fabric scraps, and watching others succeed—and fail—was the only motivation she had left.
